A group of masked robbers broke into the house of a local Sarojananda Jha in Durga Bhagwati Gaupalika-3, Matsuri last night, broke into a room's drawer and box and looted more than Rs 2 million in cash, gold and silver, according to police.
Jha said that a masked group came to the house with a weapon at around 2 pm and looted the house with a gun.
Locals have alleged that the police did not show any activism even after the robbers looted the house for hours. DSP Narayan Prasad Chimariya of District Police Office Rautahat had reached the spot after the incident. The incident is being investigated, police said.
