ODI cricket: Nepal and Papua New Guinea playing today

Nepal, which is in Oman to play a triangular series under the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2, is playing two matches against Papua New Guinea (PNG) before the series.

The first One Day International (ODI) between Nepal and Papua New Guinea is taking place today.

The first ODI between Nepal and PNG will be played on Tuesday morning at 11:15 am Nepali time at Al Amrit Cricket Ground, Oman Academy.

The game will be broadcast live from Action Sports HD.

The second game on Friday will be Day Night. Nepal is going to play Day-Night ODI for the first time.

The Nepali cricket team arrived in Oman on August 24 for a triangular series and a match against PNG. Since then, Nepal has been practising in Oman.

Nepal is going to play ODI with PNG for the first time. Coincidentally, Nepal got ODI recognition for the first time in 2018 by defeating PNG in the one-day World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

After that, the match between Nepal and PNG will be played for the first time. Nepal has since played only ODI matches with the Netherlands, UAE, Oman and USA. PNG Nepal is the fifth team to play ODIs.

So far, Nepal has won only once in four games against PNG. Nepal lost to PNG in two ODI World Cup qualifiers in 2005 and in the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

Nepal had won the last match in 2018 BS.

Nepal is going to play ODI for the first time after the triangular series of World Cup League-2 held in Kathmandu in February 2020. Nepal, Oman and the USA competed in the triangular series in Kathmandu.

The series involving Nepal, Oman and the USA is being held in Oman from September 13.
