We will decide on MCC after the table in Parliament: Vishnu Poudel
CPN-UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel has said that the UML will take a decision immediately after the US Assistance Mission Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is tabled in the parliament.
Stating that there was no consensus among the parties in the government on MCC, Poudel claimed that there was no problem in UML.
At a press conference held by Press Chautari in Butwal on Wednesday, Poudel said that the UML had not already decided on the MCC. "Before the issue comes up in the parliament, we will take an immediate decision with the interest of the nation at the centre," Poudel said. "Instead, the government is colourful about it."
Poudel said that UML was not divided in Lumbini. "We thwarted the so-called partition attempt," Poudel said.
Poudel said that the UML was divided by bringing an ordinance as it could not do so according to the law. "The UML has tried to divide the party from 40 per cent to 20 per cent," Poudel said. "I want to challenge Prime Minister Deuba to continue the ordinance if he has the courage to do so."
Poudel claimed that UML would bring better results in the coming election than 2074 BS. "Even in the opposition, the ruling party is forming a grand alliance as it cannot compete with the UML alone," Poudel said. "It also confirms the strength of the UML."
Poudel remarked that it was like Madhav Nepal splitting the UML and attacking his mother with a banjo. "This is a serious crime. History will not forgive it," Poudel said.
Poudel claimed that the party led by Madhav Nepal could not contest the election alone and that others would not allow Baishakhi to fight in an alliance.
Stating that UML had not sacked 14 lawmakers, Poudel accused Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota of playing a role as a party cadre. He has accused the speaker of abusing his position to divide the UML.
Claiming that his budget was welcomed by all sectors, Poudel objected to the attempt to bring another budget through the replacement bill.
Poudel said that the 10-point recommendation submitted by the task force would be implemented in a creative manner in all the districts of Lumbini. He urged the confused leaders to return to UML.
Poudel claimed that the 18-point accusation levelled against Chairman Oli while being a CPN (Maoist) was the beginning of the party split. He criticized the Supreme Court for making Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister.
