MPs Pandey and Bhatt at the apex demanding maintaining a unified socialist
CPN-UML MPs Som Prasad Pandey and Shardadevi Bhatta have filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding to retain the post of CPN-UML MP.
In a writ petition filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, Member of the House Pandey and National Assembly member Bhatta demanded an interim order to maintain the Unified Socialist Party, saying that the Election Commission had not identified them even though they had chosen the Unified Socialist Party in time.
They have also demanded an interim order to stop the UML from taking any action against them until the issue is settled.
Pandey and Bhatt had also reached the commission office when the Election Commission called on them to identify the central members and MPs elected by the CPN-Unified Socialists. However, the commission refused to identify them, saying their names were not included in the earlier application.
